The final indignity

I just got a lovely reminder of HOW GLAD I am to be OUT of our apartment in California. The people in the leasing office are MONKEYS, and not even the kind they let play with kittens. They were supposed to send us our security deposit back 30 days after moving out. Which would have been roughly 2 weeks ago. Last night after I got back from Wisconsin, Husband mentioned the absent check to me.

So I decided to call them today and see what's going on. WELL, after living there and dealing with these primates, I don't know why I am surprised by the fact that there are issues with this. Here's what really gets me: the least intelligent ape in the office gave the apartment's corporate office the WRONG address. Granted, it was only off by 2 numbers, but still. I KNOW I wrote down the address correctly. Being the nice person I'm trying really hard to be, I said "I'm sure I wrote it down correctly, but my writing can be a bit messy, so it probably looks like 2 different numbers than I wrote". This ape says "no, it's ZZ, not XX, and I can fax it to you if you want ot see it". Me: "well, I'm not going to dispute this with you, so what is the outcome of this?"

(I realize I'm not being very pithy right now, but I'm a little worked up over this, so bear with me.)

Long story short: since she gave the wrong address to the corporate ofice, they sent the check out to the wrong address on May 1st. And now they have to wait 30 days before they'll put a "stop payment" on it and re-send it to the proper address. ALL BECAUSE OF THIS STUPID APE-WOMAN.

*sigh*.

IN OTHER NEWS...I just got a call from the agency and I start working tomorrow. While I was looking forward to having another day to catch up on sleep (my niece & nephew's handiwork), it's kind of nice to start a new job on a Friday, not nearly as brutal as a Monday morning. So wish me luck...
