Just hand me the bottle of wine and nobody gets hurt.

I have lots of things to say, but am super tired so a few of these things may come out in list form (cut me just a wee bit of slack, Roonie, please!).

1. My inner chocolate addiction has GOT TO CALM DOWN. I think it's a problem when you're having no-sugar-added hot cocoa packets several times per day. I can't keep this up much longer, or the food police are going to be knocking down my door, no-sugar-added or not. Not to mention the fact that I really don't have the expendable funds to be getting a decaf-soy-medium-no-whip-mocha from Seattle's Best Coffee every morning.

2. Between Saturday and Tuesday, I made my short outline for 4 topics. Now I just have to get through the other 50234 topics and then memorize the short outlines. And I'm thinking tonight is going to turn into the second night in a row of not being able to remove myself from the couch.

The bigger issue for me this week occurred when I found out that although I'm doing a bang up job in my current position, and was told just last week of all the possibilities for upward movement within the company, apparently my law degree may prevent me from being hired on permanently. I'm quite frustrated. I hate being in limbo - from the start, everyone there has told me they selected me with the intention of hiring me on permanently, but then one of my bosses mentioned to another co-worker in our group (who nicely clued me in) that they would hire me in an instant but I am taking the bar exam and am leaving...oh, and apparently there now isn't anywhere to move up in the company.

So if I get this situation right, I'm doing a fabulous job, knocking the socks off everyone, but my law degree may prevent me from getting hired and now there's no possibility of upward mobility when last week there was? This, this is rich. WTF is really all I have to say...WTF.

Of course it's not over until it's over. And I really am trying to keep a good attitude - if it doesn't happen, there's something better out there, but IT STILL SUCKS. Words of wisdom? Anyone?
